Ice Memory Foundation took part of the Monaco Polar Symposium #ColdisGettingHot organized by Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco.
Jérôme Chappellaz, Chairman of Ice Memory Foundation - École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, Centre national de la recherche scientifique - shared One Polar Summit conclusions on the first day:
« One of the big points of the OPPS was that everything accelerates when we speak about the cryosphere. In only 2 years the Swiss glaciers have lost 10% of their mass. So it is very urgent to take action».
On the second day, Anne-Catherine Ohlmann, Ice Memory Foundation Director was invited to talk about philanthropy in a conversation with Fondation Tara Océan Director, Romain Troublé.
She highlighted the continuous work with international institutions so that they create a legal frame for the common heritage of humanity.
"We hope that we will inspire other environmental initiatives. We are partnering with international scientific organizations to fast forward drilling operations and contribute to the ice memory patrimoine stored in the Antarctic sanctuary."
